Lincoln Softball: Recap of GLVC Doubleheader Against Upper Iowa

The Lincoln Blue Tigers had a split result in their Great Lakes Valley Conference softball doubleheader against the Upper Iowa Peacocks. In the first game, Lincoln secured an 8-2 victory with a strong performance, including a five-run fourth inning. The Peacocks initially took the lead with two runs in the second inning, but the Blue Tigers fought back, led by stellar hitting from players like Ann-Marie Simpson and Abbi Conrad.

Simpson shone with two triples in the game, making significant contributions to the team’s success by driving in runs. In the circle, Abby Pulliam pitched a complete game with a solid performance, allowing just two runs on four hits. Lincoln’s offense was well-distributed, with multiple players making key hits throughout the game.

However, the second contest saw Upper Iowa take the upper hand early with a dominant six-run first inning. Despite the Blue Tigers’ efforts, the Peacocks seized the momentum and ultimately secured the win. Tristin Doster, Addyson Alber, and Kylie Doty showcased their offensive prowess, driving in crucial runs for Upper Iowa.
