Everything You Need to Know About the ‘For All Mankind’ Spinoff ‘Star City’
Apple TV+ is expanding its thrilling hit show, For All Mankind, with a new spinoff called Star City. The creators of For All Mankind, Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi, are excited to dive deeper into the fictional universe they’ve created. Fans and critics alike have praised For All Mankind as “superior sci-fi,” and with the show’s fifth season renewed, the creators are eager to keep the momentum going.
Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, expressed their excitement by saying, “There is so much to explore, and we, along with our partners at Sony, can’t wait to dive into this next chapter of the engrossing For All Mankind universe.”
So, what can we expect from Star City? The series is described as “A robust expansion of the For All Mankind universe, Star City is a propulsive, paranoid thriller that takes us back to the key moment in the alt-history retelling of the space race – when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. But this time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humanity forward.” It will follow the same timeline as For All Mankind but from the perspective of the Soviet Union.
The cast of Star City includes Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Solly McLeod, Agnes O’Casey, Alice Englert, and three new additions, Adam Nagaitis, Josef Davies, and Ruby Ashbourne Serkis. Each member of the cast will be portraying new characters, with Ifans playing the chief designer behind the Soviet Space program, and Martin taking on the role of Lyudmilla, the head of the KGB surveillance department at Star City.
As for the premiere date of Star City, there is no official release date yet, but fans can expect the new show to premiere in 2026. While there isn’t a trailer available for the spinoff yet, anticipation is high for this exciting new addition to the For All Mankind universe.
