“Chief of War: Apple TV+ Unveils Premiere Date and First Look at Jason Momoa Series”

Apple TV+ has officially announced the premiere date for Chief of War, a historical drama series featuring Jason Momoa. Set in the 1800s, the show follows the battle to unify the Hawaiian Islands before colonization. The star-studded cast includes Momoa, Luciane Buchanan, and Te Ao o Hinepehinga, among others.

In a statement, Apple TV+ described Chief of War as an epic drama centered around the warrior Ka‘iana, played by Momoa. The first two episodes are set to debut on Friday, August 1, 2025, with subsequent episodes airing every Friday until September 19 of the same year.

This series is not just a regular project; it’s a passion project for creators Momoa and Thomas Pa‘a Sibbett, who both have native Hawaiian roots. Produced by FIFTH SEASON and Chernin Entertainment, the show promises to offer a unique perspective on the unification and colonization of Hawai‘i in the 18th century.
