Adolescence: Netflix’s Popular Limited Series in First 2 Weeks
“Adolescence” is making history on Netflix by becoming the most-watched limited series in its first two weeks on the streaming platform. Since its debut on March 13, the show has captivated an audience of 66.3 million viewers, setting a record as both the most-watched limited series and the most-viewed U.K. title ever during this time frame. The series started strong, drawing in 24.3 million views in its first week, and continued to grow, reaching an impressive 42 million views by the week of March 17, securing its place at the top of Netflix’s top 10 TV list.
Compared to other shows, “Adolescence” significantly outperformed the second most-viewed series of the week, “The Residence,” which received 6.4 million views in its first week on the platform. Meanwhile, “Running Point,” which premiered on February 27, maintained its presence on the top 10 list and landed at the No. 4 spot with 3.5 million views.
In the latter half of the TV list, “Wolf King” claimed the No. 6 spot with 2.9 million views, “Temptation Island” followed at No. 7 with 2.7 million views, and Bert Kreischer’s stand-up special, “Lucky,” rounded out the top ten with 2.6 million views.
On the film side, “The Electric State,” led by Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown, held its ground as the most-watched film of the week with 22.5 million views, slightly down from the previous week. The documentary “The Twister: Caught in the Storm” secured the No. 2 spot with 17 million views, while “Plankton: The Movie” took the No. 6 spot with 5.5 million views.
Additionally, the film “Back in Action,” starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, climbed the ranks on Netflix’s all-time most popular films list, now claiming the title of the streaming platform’s seventh most-watched English film to date.
