In case you missed it, a new season of the Goosebumps TV series began streaming on January 10th, 2025. It’s called Goosebumps: The Vanishing, and star David Schwimmer teased that it’s kind of gross. The show is technically the second season of the anthology series that premiered on Hulu and Disney+ in 2023. All eight episodes of the current season are available to watch now, and here’s a quick overview of what you can expect.

The storyline follows divorced father Anthony Brewer (played by Schwimmer) as his two teenage kids, Cece (Jayden Bartels) and Devin (Sam McCarthy), come to visit. The Brewer family uncovers a supernatural mystery from the past that is resurfacing in the present, leading to plenty of spooky situations.

Developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, Goosebumps: The Vanishing weaves elements from several Goosebumps books into the plot. Fans will recognize familiar episode titles adapted from the book titles they love. According to Disney+, book references such as Stay Out of the Basement, The Haunted Car, Monster Blood, and others are woven into the scripts for this season.

Schwimmer shared in Entertainment Weekly that he filmed a particularly “gross” scene in episode 2 that might make your skin crawl. Without spoiling anything, the scene involves some body horror and something creepy coming out of a sewer. If that’s not intriguing enough to pique your interest, I don’t know what is.

So, if you’re a fan of spooky shows with a touch of gross-out humor, be sure to check out Goosebumps: The Vanishing streaming now on Hulu and Disney+. Happy binge-watching!
