According to the league rules, clubs can start holding preseason camps as early as January 15, but no later than February 5, before the start of league play. The action kicks off on March 7 with the 2025 NWSL Challenge Cup at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida, airing on Prime Video. This competition will see a faceoff between the previous NWSL Shield winner and the reigning NWSL Champion.

The regular season starts on March 14 with a balanced 26-match schedule played over 25 weeks. To make sure the league’s top players can compete for both their club and country, matches won’t be scheduled during FIFA windows. There will be a break from June 23-29 and in July during confederation competitions, but teams will have the opportunity to play against other professional women’s teams to keep the competition going.

The regular season wraps up the first weekend of November, with the 2025 NWSL Playoffs happening shortly after. The semifinals will take place in mid-November, leading up to the 2025 NWSL Championship on November 22.

The broadcast schedule for the 2025 season looks promising, with matches available on various platforms. Whether you’re watching on Prime Video, ION network, CBS, ESPN, or NWSL+, there are plenty of opportunities to catch the action. Stay tuned for more details on the full league schedule and broadcast information coming soon.

In addition to the schedule, the NWSL has made updates to the competition calendar, including changes to player contracts, trade windows, and transfer periods. These updates aim to streamline the process and provide clarity for teams and players.
