“Wicked” Streaming Debut on New Year’s Eve in Austin, TX
“Wicked,” the highly anticipated film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, is making its streaming debut on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31st). Directed by Jon M. Chu, the movie stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Galinda.
Fans can purchase or rent the film on Prime Video along with other streaming platforms like Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Comcast Xfinity, Cox, and Microsoft Movies & TV. A bonus of three additional hours of content will include cast commentary, deleted and extended scenes, behind-the-scenes features, and a Sing-Along version.
For those who prefer physical copies, “Wicked” will also be released on 4K UHD and Blu-ray shortly following its streaming debut. The film is currently in theaters, with Part 2 titled “Wicked: For Good” set to hit theaters on November 21, 2025.
