Javier Bardem to Star in Cape Fear Series on Apple TV+

The upcoming Apple TV+ series, Cape Fear, has announced that Javier Bardem will be starring in the lead role. Not only that, Bardem will also join esteemed filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg as executive producers on the project.

The series, adapted from John D. MacDonald’s novel “The Executioners” that inspired both the 1962 original film and the 1991 remake directed by Scorsese, will follow the story of happily married attorneys Amanda and Steve Bowden as their lives are upended by the release of Max Cady, a notorious killer from their past, played by Bardem. With a total of 10 episodes, the show promises to be a tense, Hitchcockian thriller that also delves into America’s modern fascination with true crime.

Bardem, known for his roles in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters: The Erik and Lyle Menéndez Story and the recent ‘Dune’ films, is sure to bring his signature intensity and talent to this new project. It’s definitely a series to keep an eye out for if you enjoy gripping dramas and psychological thrillers.
