Prime Video Users: Amazon’s New Rules That Will Disappoint You
Amazon Prime is making changes to its device-sharing rules in January 2025, and it’s important to know what this means for Prime Video users. As of now, Prime members can stream Prime Video on up to five devices, including TVs. But with the upcoming update, this streaming will be limited to two televisions per account. If you want to watch on a third TV, you’ll need an additional subscription. This adjustment will affect how Prime members access content across multiple devices.
According to Amazon, starting in January 2025, Prime members can enjoy Prime Video on up to five devices, with a maximum of two TVs included. If you want to watch on more than two TVs, you’ll need to purchase an extra Prime membership. You can manage your devices in your settings or buy another membership to accommodate more devices.
Currently, Amazon Prime subscribers can access Prime Video on up to 10 devices, including phones, laptops, tablets, and TVs. However, with the new rules, this limit will be reduced to five devices.
Amazon offers different Prime membership plans in India to suit different needs and budgets. The monthly plan costs Rs 299 and includes perks like free one- or two-day deliveries, access to Prime Video and Prime Music, and exclusive deals. The quarterly plan, priced at Rs 599 for three months, offers the same benefits at a slightly lower cost per month. The annual plan, which costs Rs 1,499, is the most cost-effective option for long-term savings, providing full Prime benefits. Additionally, the Prime Lite Annual Plan costs Rs 799 and offers free two-day delivery and access to Prime Video (with ads) in HD on mobile devices, but does not include Prime Music or some other features.
