back in the early oughts. Easton is also the guy who brought artisanal Italian pasta to Seattle, opening the now-shuttered Panevino and later Il Corvo in December 2011.
With such a rich culinary background, I had high hopes for their Feast of the Seven Fishes. And I was not disappointed. The meal was a decadent, multi-course affair, with each dish highlighting the flavors of the sea in a unique and delicious way. The baccala was tender and perfectly seasoned, the calamari was perfectly cooked, and the fried smelts were crispy and flavorful.
The atmosphere at Kitchen at Abeja was warm and inviting, with twinkling lights and a festive ambiance that really set the mood for the evening. I could see how this tradition has gained popularity in Seattle, as it’s a wonderful way to celebrate the holiday season with friends and family while enjoying some delicious seafood.
All in all, my first experience with the Feast of the Seven Fishes was a resounding success. It’s a tradition that I can definitely see myself continuing in the years to come, and I highly recommend checking it out if you ever get the chance. Who knows, maybe Hulu’s The Bear will inspire you to give it a try too!
