Malcolm in the Middle Revival on Disney+ with Original Cast

The hilarious sitcom Malcolm in the Middle is making a comeback with a limited-series revival on Disney+, just in time for its 25th anniversary. The revival will consist of four episodes and will feature original cast members Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek reprising their iconic roles.

In this new chapter, Malcolm and his daughter find themselves back in the family chaos as Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party. The show’s creator, Linwood Boomer, is onboard as a writer for the new episodes, and producing director Ken Kwapis will direct all four.

While Muniz and Cranston have hinted at this revival in the past, it’s exciting to see it come to life. Fans can look forward to catching up with their favorite characters, even if it’s only for a short four-episode run. Other original cast members may join the revival, but the focus will remain on Malcolm and his parents.

Although Erik Per Sullivan, who played the youngest brother Dewey, is unlikely to return due to leaving acting in 2010, fans can still look forward to the dynamic of the dysfunctional yet lovable family they know so well. Bryan Cranston, along with Linwood Boomer, Tracy Katsky, and Gail Berman, will be executive producing the new episodes.

Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television, expressed excitement for the revival, highlighting the show’s timeless humor and relatability. Karey Burke, President of 20th Television, praised Malcolm in the Middle for redefining television comedy and saw the revival as an iconic reunion of a brilliant cast.

And fun fact for you – I was actually a background extra in several episodes of Malcolm in the Middle during Malcolm’s high school years! How cool is that? Are you as thrilled as I am about the return of Malcolm in the Middle?
