Jeff Peacock, Former Alabama GOP Official, Announces Candidacy for Congress in Florida Special Election
There’s going to be a special election soon in the Florida Panhandle, and Navarre High School math teacher Jeff Peacock is stepping up to run for Congress. You might recognize Jeff from his work in Alabama, where he was involved in the state and county Republican parties, even serving as chairman of the Escambia County Republican Party. He also took on a campaign for the Alabama State Senate in the past.
This election comes after U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz resigned, leaving an open seat to be filled. Gaetz had been nominated for U.S. Attorney General by President-elect Donald Trump, but later withdrew his nomination. Governor Ron DeSantis will appoint someone for the Senate to succeed Marco Rubio, nominated to be U.S. Secretary of State.
Peacock, a fourth-generation resident of Florida’s 1st congressional district, knows the area and its people well. As a teacher, he understands the importance of education and as the son of a military veteran, is passionate about supporting our veterans. Coming from a rural background, he also has insight into the challenges faced by farmers and their communities.
What sets Peacock apart is that he’s not a career politician—he’s just someone who cares about making a difference in the lives of regular people. His main goal in running for Congress is to bring common sense and real-life perspective to Washington, where decisions are often made by millionaires who don’t know the struggles of everyday working families.
Peacock’s official campaign website can be found online, and he’s running with the support of his wife Jodie, who was also active in the Alabama GOP. It’s a true return home for the Peacock family, and they’re ready to make a difference. Join Jeff in his mission to send a teacher to Congress, not just another politician.
