Muscatine Student Performing in “Christmas at Belmont: Live from Nashville”
Belmont University’s Olivia Bastin is set to wow audiences in the annual concert tradition, “Christmas at Belmont: Live from Nashville.” This year, the event will be streaming on Amazon Music and Prime Video, making it accessible to a global audience for the first time ever. Featuring over 600 talented student musicians and vocalists, the concert will showcase a mix of traditional carols, classical masterworks, and seasonal favorites. Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Jeffery Ames, promises a diverse lineup with everything from pop ensembles to country and bluegrass performances.
The ninety-minute performance will be a testament to Belmont’s dedication to nurturing creativity and providing top-notch training. With more than fifteen student choirs and ensembles participating, including groups like the Belmont Chorale, Symphony Orchestra, Southbound (country), and Voxology (Gospel, R&B), viewers will get a taste of the university’s exceptional music education. Special guest appearances by Belmont alumni Ashley Cooke, Cody Fry, and Dwan Hill will add an extra layer of excitement to the event.
Ashley Cooke, a rising country-music star and Belmont graduate, recently scored her first N° 1 hit and received a CMT Award for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year. Cody Fry, known for his Grammy-nominated orchestral version of “Eleanor Rigby,” and Dwan Hill, a multiple Grammy and Dove award-winner, will also bring their musical prowess to the stage.
