Apple TV+ Finds New Home with Amazon: Surprising Move
Apple TV+ has found a new home in a surprise move from Amazon. Now, Amazon has added Apple TV+ to its list of Prime Video channels, making it easier for Amazon Prime members to subscribe and enjoy the platform through their Prime account. For just £8.99 per month, members can now stream Apple TV+ directly through Prime Video with no extra apps to download. And the best part? You can try it out with a seven-day free trial before committing. Plus, non-existing Prime members also get a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime when they sign up.
Apple TV+ is known for its stellar lineup of shows, including favorites like Slow Horses, Ted Lasso, Presumed Innocent, Disclaimer, Bad Sisters, and Silo, as well as coverage of Major League Soccer and Major League Baseball. And there’s more to come, with the highly-anticipated second season of Severance dropping on January 17th. Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have already garnered an impressive 524 wins and 2,374 award nominations, including hits like Ted Lasso and CODA.
Amazon’s move to include Apple TV+ in Prime Video follows a successful launch in the US back in October, and the service is now also available in Australia and Canada. Chris Bird, Managing Director of Prime Video UK, expressed excitement about the addition of Apple TV+, saying, “We are delighted to have Apple TV+ and its stellar lineup of UK content join our entertainment catalogue catering to the unique tastes of our UK audience.”
In addition to Apple TV+, Prime Video offers a vast library of TV shows and films, such as The Rings of Power, Fallout, Reacher, The Boys, and Clarkson’s Farm. The service also streams select Premier League and UEFA Champions League fixtures, including this year’s Boxing Day matches, all available for free for Prime members. And for those looking for even more entertainment options, Sky has recently revamped its TV packages, introducing a new Essential TV bundle for £15 a month that includes over 100 channels like Sky Atlantic, as well as subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.
