Weekend Streaming on Hulu (December 6-8, 2024) – What’s New
This weekend, Hulu is bringing a hefty amount of new titles to the streaming service, just in time for the holiday season.
Friday, December 6, will be packed with movie options, including the beloved Dr. Dolittle franchise starring Eddie Murphy and the heartwarming Marley & Me series with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston.
Dr. Dolittle, directed by Betty Thomas, was a box office hit, grossing $294 million. The sequel, released in 2001, made $176 million worldwide. Although three direct-to-video sequels followed in 2006, 2008, and 2009, they did not feature Eddie Murphy in the lead role. Instead, Kyla Patt took over the role of Dolittle’s daughter. In 2020, a new version of Dr. Dolittle was released with Robert Downey Jr. in the lead role, grossing $251 million.
As for the Marley & Me series, the movie adaptation of the memoir of the same name was a hit in 2008, earning $255 million worldwide. A direct-to-video sequel, The Puppy Years, followed in 2011 with a new cast.
On Saturday, December 7, Hulu will be adding several new series to its lineup, including the premiere of “Inside Enchanted Forests” and seasons 1-2 of “Celebrity IOU”.
