Peacock’s upcoming series “Lockerbie: A Search for Truth” just dropped its official trailer, giving us a glimpse into the drama and intrigue surrounding the aftermath of the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. This tragedy took the lives of 270 people, including 35 Syracuse University students.

Set to premiere on January 2, 2025, the series is based on the book “The Lockerbie Bombing: A Father’s Search For Justice,” which tells the true story of Dr. Jim Swire’s quest for justice after losing his daughter in the bombing. Oscar-winner Colin Firth takes on the role of Swire, bringing his talent to this gripping narrative.

The bombing that took place on December 21, 1988, shook the world, claiming the lives of nearly 270 individuals when a bomb went off over Lockerbie, Scotland. Among the victims were the 35 students from Syracuse University who were part of a study abroad program.

In the series, Firth portrays Swire, a British doctor who lost his daughter Flora in the attack. Following the tragedy, Swire dedicated himself to seeking the truth and justice for the victims, challenging the initial blame put on a Libyan conspiracy.
