BT/EE TV adds Paramount+ streaming app: How to Watch

BT and EE TV customers have exciting news: the EE TV Box Pro and EE TV Box Mini now have support for the Paramount+ streaming app. This means that BT broadband customers with these devices can enjoy streaming content through the Paramount+ app, adding even more entertainment options to their lineup.

While Paramount+ is not included in any BT or EE TV plans, customers can easily subscribe directly through their TV box. Prices start at just £4.99 per month, making it an accessible choice for anyone looking to expand their streaming choices.

One thing to keep in mind with the Paramount+ app on EE TV is that Premium subscribers won’t be able to watch content in 4K Ultra HD or listen in Dolby Atmos. Instead, they’ll be capped at 1080p HD. However, this doesn’t take away from the wealth of content available through Paramount+.

This addition of Paramount+ to EE TV brings a host of exclusive content, including original movies and series from top studios like Paramount Pictures, Showtime, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, and Nickelodeon. To access this content, customers simply need to sign up to Paramount+ directly through the app on their EE TV boxes.

Paramount+ offers different subscription plans to cater to varying preferences. The Basic plan starts at £4.99 per month and includes full HD viewing, though it’s limited to streaming on one device at a time with adverts. The Standard plan, priced at £7.99 per month, removes ads and allows streaming on up to two devices simultaneously. For the full experience, the Premium plan at £10.99 per month offers 4K Ultra HD resolution with HDR 10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos surround sound, along with the ability to watch on up to four devices at once.

While BT and EE have noted that customers will initially be limited to viewing content in 1080p HD, without support for 4K UHD and other enhancements, the introduction of Paramount+ adds a significant range of new and exciting content options. Alistair Wilson, Partnerships Director at EE, stated that the addition of Paramount+ reflects EE’s commitment to providing top-quality content to its customers, making streaming even more enjoyable.

Beyond Paramount+, EE TV offers support for a variety of other popular apps including Apple TV+, Netflix, NOW, Prime Video, Discovery+, and YouTube. While it may not have the broadest app support compared to some other services, Paramount+ is a valuable addition to the platform that enhances the streaming experience for both new and existing customers.
