Get ready to travel back in time with everyone’s favorite serial killer as Paramount+ has released the trailer for Dexter: Original Sin. This new series stars Patrick Gibson as a younger version of Dexter, taking us back to his college days in 1991. Despite his best efforts to suppress his dark urges, Dexter can’t hold back any longer, with his father, played by Christian Slater, there to guide him. The twist? Dexter is interning at the Miami Metro Police Department, throwing a wrench in his plans.
The show also features an ensemble cast including Molly Brown, Christina Milian, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, and Reno Wilson, as well as guest appearances by Sarah Michelle Gellar and Patrick Dempsey. Fans of the original Dexter need not worry, as Michael C. Hall returns to provide the iconic inner monologue we all know and love.
Executive produced by Clyde Phillips, Scott Reynolds, and others, Dexter: Original Sin marks the second return to the Dexter universe after the original series, with a sequel series, Dexter: New Blood, airing in 2021. The show will premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime on December 13 before its linear debut on December 15 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. International viewers can catch it on Paramount+ starting December 13.
