Apple TV+ has exciting news for fans of the hit film "The Family Plan" – a sequel is officially in the works! The sequel will see the return of the beloved Morgan Family, with Mark Wahlberg set to produce and reprise his role as ‘Dan Morgan.’ Joining him are returning stars Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, and Van Crosby.
The action-comedy sequel will be helmed by director Simon Cellan Jones, who also directed the first installment. "I am beyond excited to step back into the shoes of Dan Morgan again alongside my brilliant co-stars, and with Simon and David returning to the helm," said producer and star Mark Wahlberg.
The success of the original film has paved the way for this highly anticipated sequel. David Coggeshall, the writer of the first film, has returned to pen the sequel, which is set during Christmas in Europe. The story follows Dan as he plans a perfect holiday for the Morgans, only to have his past resurface in unexpected ways.
The sequel to "The Family Plan" will be a collaboration between Apple Original Films and Skydance Media. Alongside Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger will produce for Skydance. Executive producer John G. Scotti will work alongside Cellan Jones to bring this exciting new chapter to life.
