"Watch the GRAMMYs Exclusively on ABC, Hulu, and Disney+ Starting in 2027!"
Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Dana Walden and The Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. have announced a groundbreaking 10-year global deal for "The GRAMMYS" to be exclusively simulcast on ABC, Hulu, and Disney+ starting in 2027. This move marks The Walt Disney Company as the new home for Music’s Biggest Night after 50 years. The Recording Academy and Disney have entered into an agreement that cements the company as the official destination for "The GRAMMYS" until 2036. Additionally, as part of this collaboration, The Recording Academy will produce multiple GRAMMY-branded music specials and other new programming for audiences worldwide across Disney’s platforms.
"The GRAMMYS" will join The Walt Disney Company’s prestigious lineup of live event programming, which includes "The Oscars," "The CMA Awards," and "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest," as well as ESPN, a leading multiplatform sports entertainment brand. In the inaugural year of this partnership in 2027, ABC will showcase "The GRAMMYS," "The Oscars," and Super Bowl LXI.
Dana Walden expressed excitement about this collaboration, stating, "As The Walt Disney Company teams up with The Recording Academy to embark on this new chapter in the history of ‘The GRAMMYS,’ we do so with pride and gratitude. Live events play a crucial role in our culture and industry, and we have now acquired one of the crown jewels, enhancing our portfolio of world-class programming across various genres."
Harvey Mason Jr. also shared his enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, "We are thrilled to bring ‘The GRAMMYS’ and other new music programming to the Disney ecosystem. We appreciate our longstanding partnership with CBS and are now honored to collaborate with Disney, an iconic company that has always prioritized creators. This alliance signifies a significant milestone in the Academy’s evolution and growth, strengthening our ability to support and uplift music professionals worldwide."
For The Recording Academy, this announcement follows a series of notable accomplishments, including the addition of 3,000 new female voting members, the global expansion of its mission, advocacy for over a dozen pro-creator laws at state and federal levels, two consecutive GRAMMY telecasts with substantial ratings growth, and recognition by Fast Company as one of the Most Innovative Companies.
About The Recording Academy, it is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving music creators globally.
