‘Season two of Shipwreck Hunters Australia premieres on Disney+ for thrilling underwater adventures’

Disney+ is bringing back its Australian production, Shipwreck Hunters Australia, for a second season. The documentary series follows a team of ocean explorers as they delve into the stories of survival and tragedy along Western Australia’s ‘Treasure Coast’. The upcoming six-part season promises more thrilling adventures as the team uncovers hidden maritime treasures.

In the first season, viewers witnessed the remarkable discovery of the 111-year-old sunken Finnish-owned sailing ship Glenbank and a 1942 Flying Boat sunk during World War 2 in Broome. The return of Captain Ash Sutton, Andre Rerekura, Nush Freedman, Johnny Debnam, and Ryan Chatfield, along with support from expert maritime archaeologists from the Western Australian Museum, guarantees another season filled with excitement and historical revelations.

Shipwreck Hunters Australia is a collaboration between VAM Media, Terra Australis Productions, and Barking Mad Productions for Disney+, with significant production funding from Screen Australia. Additional support comes from Screenwest, Lotterywest, the Western Australian Regional Screen Fund, and Tourism Western Australia. The series is directed and produced by Brendan Hutchens, with Russell Vines as the series producer and Steve Bibb as the executive producer.
