Patrick Brammall, Known for ‘Colin From Accounts,’ to Headline Apple TV+ Series Based on ‘The Dispatcher’

Australian actor Patrick Brammall is set to take the lead role in the upcoming series adaptation of Ryan David Jahn’s novel “The Dispatcher” on Apple TV+. The tech giant has given the green light for a six-episode series that will be based in Australia.

The show’s premise revolves around police detective Ian Hunt, portrayed by Brammall, whose life was shattered a decade ago when his young daughter, Maggie, vanished mysteriously. Working as a police dispatcher, Ian clings to hope, refusing to accept that his daughter may be lost forever. When he receives a distress call from a girl he believes to be Maggie, Ian embarks on a relentless quest to find her and reunite his fractured family, regardless of the sacrifices required.

Kris Mrksa will serve as both the writer and executive producer of the series. The show will also be executive produced by Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta from 60Forty Films, alongside Joanna Werner from Werner Film Productions.

Patrick Brammall is no stranger to the screen, having gained recognition for his role in the acclaimed Australian series “Colin From Accounts,” which he co-created with his wife, Harriet Dyer. The show, which premiered in 2022, received positive reviews, leading to a second season that aired in Australia in 2024. The first season is currently available for streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S., with the second season set to follow suit later this year. “Colin From Accounts” recently clinched two Gotham Awards for breakthrough comedy series and outstanding performance in a comedy series, attributed to Harriet Dyer.

Aside from his work on “Colin From Accounts,” Brammall has appeared in various productions such as “A Moody Christmas,” “Glitch,” and “Evil.” He also lends his voice to the character Uncle Rad in the popular children’s show “Bluey.”
