Netflix Launches 4 New Series in $1 Billion Investment in Mexico
Netflix recently announced exciting news about its $1 billion investment in Mexican film and TV production. The streaming giant has revealed four new series that are currently in the works in Mexico.
These series include “Santita,” “Amor de oficina,” “I’m not afraid” (“No tengo miedo”), and “Corruptors” (“Los corruptores”). “Santita,” directed by Rodrigo García, features Gael García Bernal in the cast. “Amor de oficina” is a comedy by Carolina Rivera, and “I’m not afraid” is based on Niccolò Ammaniti’s Italian novel. Lastly, “Corruptors” is an adaptation of Jorge Zepeda Patterson’s novel.
The streamer has also recently wrapped up filming on “Lovesick” (“Mal de amores”), a series directed by Catalina Aguilar Mastretta, the daughter of novel author Ángeles Mastretta.
Other exciting projects from Netflix include “Snakes and Ladders,” “The Dead Girls,” “How to Win the Lottery,” “The Gringo Hunters,” “Unspeakable Sins,” and “No One Saw Us Leave,” all set to release in 2025.
Netflix’s decision to invest $1 billion in Mexican film and TV production aims to boost the country’s audiovisual industry, create jobs, and enhance opportunities across Mexico. The series greenlights come just a few months after this significant investment.
