Dave’s Thoughts on The Last of Us, Andor, The Rehearsal, and More
In case you missed the seventh installment premiere of Andor, I recommend catching up as it efficiently concludes with where Season 1 left off with a perfect blend of exhilarating Star Wars action and profound political undertones. The heartwarming series, Andor, suits adult viewers, presenting a unique perspective on the Star Wars universe. I’m intrigued to discover the twists and turns that Season 2 will reveal.
The Rehearsal’s second season premiere left me with mixed feelings since it brilliantly captures both humor and discomfort. The episode dives into the peculiar topic of airplane crashes, reflecting the show’s distinctive style. However, I question if the heavy themes chosen for the climax may weigh down the otherwise comedic show. In all, I have a soft spot for The Rehearsal, but I acknowledge it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
Although I initially lauded Dope Thief’s first season for its creative and captivating narrative, the season finale veered into more conventional crime-drama territory, losing some of its original charm. Despite this stumble, Dope Thief still holds a special place, particularly due to its standout lead, Brian Tyree Henry, whose subdued performance in the finale was unexpected. It’s regrettable but not uncommon for shows to lose momentum in their final acts.
