Comcast CEO Pay for 2024 Revealed: Brian Roberts, Michael Cavanagh
Comcast, the parent company of NBCUniversal, recently shared the 2024 compensation packages for its top executives, including chairman and CEO Brian Roberts and president Michael Cavanagh. Roberts made $33.9 million last year, a decrease from his $35.5 million in 2023, while Cavanagh received $28.3 million, down from $29.6 million the year before.
In addition, Comcast’s stock fell by 14 percent in 2024, despite seeing growth in revenue, earnings, and adjusted net income, although free cash flow decreased by 3 percent. The first-quarter earnings for 2025 showed Peacock, the streaming service, still running at a loss, but with an increase in subscribers. However, unexpected declines in broadband led to a decline in the company’s stock value.
Last year, Comcast announced the spinoff of most of its cable networks into a new entity under the leadership of Mark Lazarus as CEO, with David Novak as chairman. This move is expected to create a new growth path for the combined assets of the spin-off company, currently known as SpinCo.
As Comcast focuses on its core six growth businesses, including Peacock, studios, theme parks, residential broadband, mobile, and business services, CEO Brian Roberts expressed optimism about the future. Analysts, like Jessica Reif-Ehrlich from Bank of America, share this positive outlook for Comcast’s future growth.
