Max Rolling Out Paid Account Sharing: Key Details
Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service, Max, formerly known as HBO Max, has some exciting news for subscribers! They have introduced a new feature called Max Extra Member Add-On that allows account holders to bring additional members on board for a small added fee. This feature is part of a trend that platforms like Netflix have been following for years.
The Max Extra Member Add-On lets existing account holders invite non-household members to join their accounts for just $7.99 per member each month. The best part is that this cost remains the same regardless of which paid tier the primary account holder is on. These extra members will have the opportunity to create their own accounts under the same subscription, complete with their own unique login information. However, keep in mind that currently, you are limited to adding just one extra member per account.
According to JB Perrette, the CEO/President of Global Streaming and Games at Warner Bros. Discovery, these updates are aimed at allowing existing subscribers to easily share their account with friends and family who are not part of their household, all without any interruptions.
So, with the Max Extra Member Add-On, you can expand your account sharing circle and make streaming a more social experience for everyone involved. Exciting things are happening in the world of streaming entertainment, and this is just the beginning!
