Premiere Date for 2025 Black Panther Disney+ Show Moved Up

Marvel Animation is taking Black Panther fans by surprise by premiering its new Disney+ series, Eyes of Wakanda, earlier than expected. This animated series, first announced in November 2023, is Marvel Animation’s fifth installment and dives into the history of Wakanda through the eyes of its warriors.

While the official release date for the Disney+ series is set for August 6, Marvel has decided to give viewers a sneak peek by unveiling the first episode ahead of schedule. The big reveal is happening on June 9 at the Annecy International Film Festival, where director and executive producer Todd Harris will share insights during a special making-of session.

What sets Eyes of Wakanda apart from previous Marvel Animation Disney+ shows is that it is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Sacred Timeline. This means fans can expect to see connections to MCU characters and historical events as Wakandan warriors explore the globe in search of missing vibranium. However, viewers should not anticipate appearances from characters like T’Challa, Shuri, Okoye, or M’Baku from the Black Panther movies. Instead, the focus will be on expanding Wakandan lore and providing new context for fans.

With Eyes of Wakanda being the first show in Phase 6 of the MCU, fans can also look forward to another four-episode animated series called Marvel Zombies, set to premiere on October 3, 2025. For now, mark your calendars for August 6, 2025, when Eyes of Wakanda arrives on Disney+ for an exciting journey into Wakandan history.
