Norman Lear’s Clean Slate Cancelled: Prime Video Season 1 Cut
Norman Lear’s latest project, “Clean Slate,” unfortunately got the axe after just one season on Prime Video. The stars of the series, Laverne Cox and George Wallace, along with co-creator Dan Ewen, shared the sad news in a guest column on Deadline. The show premiered on February 6 on the Amazon streaming platform but was unexpectedly canceled by the end of March, leaving behind what they described as a “seven-year effort gone in a puff of server exhaust.”
It’s always tough when a show you’re invested in doesn’t get the chance to fully take off. It’s a reminder that the entertainment industry can be unpredictable and challenging, even for seasoned veterans like Norman Lear and the talented cast and crew of “Clean Slate.”
Though the cancellation came as a surprise, it’s important to remember that the world of streaming entertainment is constantly evolving, and not every show can find its footing. Hopefully, the creators and stars of “Clean Slate” will bounce back with new projects in the future that will resonate with audiences and showcase their immense talent.
