Alicia Silverstone to Return for Sequel TV Series on Peacock

A sequel TV series to the iconic 1995 movie “Clueless” is in the works at Peacock, and the exciting news is that Alicia Silverstone is set to reprise her role as Cher Horowitz. The show will be written by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, known for their work on “Gossip Girl,” along with Jordan Weiss from “Dollface.” All four will also serve as executive producers, with the original writer/director Amy Heckerling on board as well.

Details about the plot of the series are being kept hush-hush for now, but we know it will pick up where the movie left off, following the beloved character Cher Horowitz on her next adventures.

For those not in the know, the original “Clueless” film loosely adapted Jane Austen’s novel “Emma” and starred Alicia Silverstone as the fashionable and kind-hearted Cher, who decides to help her new friend Tai Frasier with a makeover. It was a quintessential ’90s movie that has become a classic.

This isn’t the first time Peacock has explored the idea of a “Clueless” series. Just last year, they were working on a spin-off focused on Dionne, Cher’s best friend. Unfortunately, that project didn’t move forward, but now the focus is back on Cher’s story.

Fans will be excited to see Alicia Silverstone back in action as Cher, especially after her recent appearance in a Super Bowl ad alongside her on-screen rival, Amber. And if you’re looking for a throwback, check out Silverstone’s TikTok account, where she’s recreated some iconic scenes from the original film.

So get ready to revisit the world of “Clueless” with this new TV series starring the one and only Alicia Silverstone. It’s sure to bring back all the nostalgia of the ’90s and introduce a whole new generation to the fabulousness of Cher Horowitz.
