“Pacific Rim Prequel Series in Development at Prime Video”
A “Pacific Rim” TV series is officially in the works at Prime Video! The live-action show, first announced last August, is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios and Legendary Television. Eric Heisserer, known for “Arrival” and “Bird Box,” is on board as the writer and executive producer, alongside Carmen Lewis under their banner Chronology. This project marks the first under their new TV deal with Legendary.
While plot details are under wraps, we do know that this series will be a prequel to Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 film and its 2018 sequel, “Pacific Rim Uprising.” Legendary Television President Jason Clodfelter expressed excitement about the partnership, praising Eric Heisserer’s talent and accomplishments. The Pacific Rim universe already includes a Netflix anime series, comic books, novels, toys, and more, with potential for new films on the horizon.
In the world of Pacific Rim, humanity constructs massive fighting robots called Jaegers to combat Kaiju, massive monsters that emerge from an inter-dimensional rift at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. The collaboration between Eric Heisserer, Chronology, and Legendary promises an engaging new look at this epic universe. Stay tuned for more updates as the series develops!
