Streaming Ratings Surge with Season Finale of ‘1923’
The season two finale of the hit show 1923 broke records as the show’s largest audience ever.
Paramount+ reports that the Yellowstone prequel wrapped up its season with a whopping 14 million viewers worldwide over the span of seven days. This marks a 41 percent increase from the first season finale in February 2023, which had 10 million viewers.
It’s worth noting that Paramount+ uses the same audience measurement formula as other streaming platforms to define “viewers.” In 1923’s case, this equates to 14 million complete viewings of the season finale, which ran for two hours. This totals to a worldwide viewing time of 1.68 billion minutes.
In addition, Paramount+ highlights that season two of 1923 saw a growth of about 46 percent compared to the first season. The show now ranks among the top three original series on the platform alongside Landman and Tulsa King. All three shows are produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Taylor Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.
According to Nielsen, in the United States, 1923 was the fifth most streamed show or movie in March. The series accumulated a total of 3.9 billion minutes of watch time over the month, excluding the finale, which premiered on April 6.
Behind the scenes, Taylor Sheridan leads the talented team of executive producers for 1923, including David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Ben Richardson, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox.
