Spotify Down: Thousands of Users Reporting Music Streaming App Issues

Spotify had a bit of a hiccup on Wednesday, with tens of thousands of users experiencing issues with the platform. But don’t worry, they got things back up and running a few hours later. Phew!

The Spotify team took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to let everyone know that everything was back to normal. They even shared their support account, @SpotifyCares, in case anyone needed more help.

Earlier in the day, folks were having trouble loading the app and desktop site, playing songs, or using the search feature. Plus, some users had trouble accessing the support site. What a headache!

According to Spotify, the outage started around 6:20 a.m. ET but was resolved by 11:45 a.m. ET. Peak reports of issues came around 9:30 a.m. ET, with over 48,000 users experiencing problems. By the early afternoon, only about 1,500 reports were left.

While Spotify didn’t provide specifics on what caused the outage, they did clarify that it was not due to a security breach. They want us to rest assured that our data is safe.

With over 675 million users worldwide, including 263 million subscribers in 180 markets, Spotify is a behemoth in the streaming world. It’s no wonder so many folks were eager to hear that things were back on track.
