Good morning, Omaha! Ready to kick off your day with the latest headlines? Here’s what’s happening in our city on Monday, April 14th.
Unfortunately, there was a tragic incident on Sunday evening at a North Omaha apartment building. Police responded to reports of gunshots at the apartments near Florence Blvd. and Browne St. around 6 p.m. Upon arrival, officers encountered Billy Dorral, 50, leading to a confrontation that resulted in gunfire. Eric Bechtolt, 45, was found at the scene and unfortunately declared deceased. Dorral was taken into custody following the incident.
Additionally, there was a motorcycle crash in North Omaha on Sunday night near 24th and Maple streets. The victim of the crash was seriously injured and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
