Dexter: Resurrection – Michael C. Hall’s Comeback Plan

Dexter Morgan is back and ready for more action in the upcoming series Dexter: Resurrection, and it looks like this time he won’t go down without a fight. Fans of the original show will remember how things ended for Dexter, with him faking his death and disappearing to live as a lumberjack. But let’s face it, that couldn’t be the end for our favorite morally-minded serial killer, right?

Actor Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter, felt the same way and pushed to bring the character back to TV. He reached out to Clyde Phillips, Dexter’s original showrunner, to see if there was a way to undo the character’s fate in the sequel series, New Blood. And lo and behold, a week later, they had an idea and Hall was on board.

In Dexter: Resurrection, we pick up a few weeks after the events of New Blood, with Dexter tracking down his son Harrison in New York City. Fans can expect to see familiar faces like Captain Angel Batista hot on their trail, as well as appearances from John Lithgow and Jimmy Smits reprising their beloved roles. Harry, Dexter’s late adoptive father, will also return in ghost form, played by James Remar.

But it’s not just old faces making a comeback. New cast members like Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, Peter Dinklage, and Uma Thurman will also join the cast in guest roles. Sounds like there’s a lot of excitement in store for Dexter fans!

For Hall, returning to the role of Dexter has been a dream come true. Shooting in New York City, where he first started his acting career, has been a special experience for him. Despite his success in other projects, Hall will always be closely associated with Dexter, a role that earned him critical acclaim and several award nominations.

Dexter: Resurrection is set to premiere this summer on Paramount+ With Showtime, and fans can expect a whole new chapter in the story of TV’s most conflicted serial killer. So get ready for more twists, turns, and thrilling moments as Dexter rises from the ashes for another round of justice and mayhem.
