Hulu Kinta ADUN Caught on Video Flashing Pistol at Man During Raya Open House
A viral video is making the rounds, showing a man claiming that a politician flashed a gun at party members during a campaign event, as reported by Sinar Harian.
Perak police are investigating claims that Hulu Kinta ADUN Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad threatened someone by showing what appeared to be a pistol. The police received a report on April 13th about the incident, with the man involved alleging that the politician displayed a gun at him during a Hari Raya open house event at the Taman Indah Community Hall.
Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin stated that they have started their investigation and have already questioned several witnesses who were present. The Tambun Deputy Chief candidate asserted that there were multiple people present who could corroborate the incident.
Currently, eight individuals have provided statements, and the authorities are seeking additional witnesses to aid in the investigation, which is being conducted under Section 506 of the Penal Code to determine the motive behind the alleged threat. Muhamad Arafat has denied the accusation, labeling it a “slanderous political attack.”
The incident reportedly occurred on the same day as the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Tambun division election. Further updates on this situation are anticipated as police continue their inquiries.
