Shazad Latif’s Nautilus to Premiere in US Almost Two Years After Disney+ Declined Series
The nautical fantasy series Nautilus was originally meant for Disney+, but after they decided not to release it in 2023, it has now found a home on AMC and AMC+. The show, consisting of ten visually stunning episodes, will premiere on June 29th.
It was quite surprising when Disney+ decided not to release Nautilus, especially considering that all the episodes had already been filmed. This move was a part of changes in their strategic objectives and an effort to cut costs, affecting several other projects as well.
Following a successful debut on Prime Video in the UK in October 2024, Nautilus has been picked up by AMC and AMC+ for North American audiences after nearly two years since its initial acquisition.
Starring Shazad Latif as Nemo, the show promises an underwater adventure inspired by Jules Verne. The talented cast also includes Georgia Flood, Thierry Frémont, Pacharo Mzembe, Arlo Green, Tyrone Ngatai, Ling Cooper Tang, Andrew Shaw, Ashan Kumar, Céline Menville, and Kayden Price.
Creator James Dormer expressed his excitement about the show finding a home on such a prestigious network like AMC, while AMC Networks originals EVP Ben Davis described Nautilus as a sweeping drama that fans of their other popular series will likely enjoy.
Mark your calendars, because Nautilus will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on June 29th at 9/8c, with a two-episode season finale airing on August 17th. Make sure not to miss this thrilling and magical underwater adventure.
