Freddie Flintoff Documentary on Horror Crash Confirmed for Disney+

Disney+ has just announced the release date for a brand new documentary focusing on former England cricketer Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff and the aftermath of his Top Gear crash. The documentary, called Flintoff, will delve into the impact of the crash on the popular TV presenter during his time filming the BBC show Top Gear back in 2022.

In addition to exploring the crash itself, the documentary will take a closer look at Freddie Flintoff’s career leading up to the incident, including his impressive achievements such as winning two Ashes series. Viewers will also get a glimpse into the Preston-born star’s journey back to cricket following the crash at the Top Gear test track in Surrey.

When asked about the upcoming film, Freddie Flintoff shared, “Cricket has always played a significant role in my life, shaping who I am. Reflecting on the highs and lows, including the challenges I’ve faced since my accident, has really highlighted why my career in the sport has been so meaningful.”

Following the crash that left him with facial and rib injuries, Flintoff has been making a steady comeback by gradually re-entering the public eye. Notably, he rejoined the England cricket team’s backroom staff for their T20 series against the West Indies last year, and more recently, in September 2024, he was named head coach of the England Lions team.

Besides his cricketing endeavors, Flintoff has also been busy with various television projects. Last year, he hosted a Christmas special of the ITV quiz show Bullseye with a darts theme. Additionally, he led the show Freddie Flintoff’s Field Of Dreams On Tour, where he took a group of young individuals from his hometown on a cricketing adventure to India.

Keep an eye out for the Flintoff documentary on Disney+ as it promises to offer an intimate look at the iconic cricketer’s life and career, shedding light on the personal challenges he has overcome since the Top Gear crash.
