Razer launches PC-to-mobile streaming platform
Razer has officially launched its platform for streaming PC games directly to mobile devices in their original screen resolutions and ratios. Available for download on both the App Store and Google Play, Razer PC Remote Play is compatible with a variety of Windows, Apple, and Android mobile devices, as long as they are running at least Windows 11, iOS 18, or Android 14 respectively.
Utilizing the Moonlight streaming client, Razer PC Remote Play requires users to install the Razer Cortex game launcher on their PCs (which now features a fresh interface) in order to stream games from services like Steam, Epic Games, and Microsoft’s PC Game Pass. On the mobile side, the Razer Nexus game launcher and the new Razer PC Remote Play app should be installed to enjoy streaming.
Initially announced at CES 2025 and previously in beta, the launch version of Razer PC Remote Play now boasts the “AV1 video codec for improved quality and lower latency” along with support for the Razer Kishi Ultra controller and all controllers that are compatible with iOS and Android devices.
For Android users employing the Kishi Ultra controller, there’s an added bonus – Razer’s Sensa HD Haptics feature. This feature uses sound from the game to create haptic feedback, taking advantage of the same hardware used in mobile devices for silent vibrating notifications.
When players stream PC games to their iPad using the Razer PC Remote Play app, they can expect full compatibility with connected keyboards, mice, and trackpads, potentially making Apple’s tablet a solid solution for streaming and playing first-person shooter games.
