Pierce Brosnan’s MobLand Success on Paramount+ Despite Reviews

The new show, MobLand, on Paramount+ has made a big splash, thanks to Pierce Brosnan’s starring role as Conrad Hannigan, a mobster from Kerry. Produced by Guy Ritchie, the series premiered exclusively on Paramount+ in Ireland, the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia on March 30.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics and fans, MobLand has become a massive hit on the streaming platform. Paramount+ shared that the show drew in an impressive 8.8 million viewers in its first week, making it the most successful launch in Paramount+ history in Ireland and the UK.

The show’s creators, Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth, along with executive producer Guy Ritchie, have brought this exciting series to life. After its successful start in key markets, MobLand is set to expand to other Paramount+ regions, including France, Germany, Italy, Latin America, and Brazil on May 30.

Interestingly, Pierce Brosnan, being from Navan, found it a bit challenging to get back into his Irish accent to play the character of Conrad Hannigan. He shared in an interview on Today FM that Guy Ritchie reassured him not to worry, but the accent was a bit elusive. Eventually, Pierce settled on a Kerry accent, appreciating its sing-song quality and biting humor that brought Conrad to life.

In addition to Pierce’s performance, he had the opportunity to collaborate with other Irish actors, including Emmet J Scanlan, who plays a significant role in the series. Pierce described their working relationship as getting on ‘like a house on fire,’ praising Emmet’s talent and their shared enjoyment of working together on set.

Overall, MobLand’s success is a testament to its engaging storyline, talented cast, and the creative vision of its producers. As the show continues to captivate audiences worldwide, fans can look forward to more thrilling episodes and exciting developments in the future.
