New ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ Series Coming to Amazon Prime Video

The series, coming from Sony Pictures Television, will bring to life the Crane-Iron Pentalogy book series by author Wang Dulu, on which the original film was based.

The writer and executive producer of the series is Jason Ning, known for his work on “Lucifer.” The new “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” series will delve into the world of 19th century Imperialist China, following the story of two master warriors and their forbidden love.

The original film, released by Sony Pictures Classics, was based on the fourth book in the series, also titled “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” The book series began serialization back in 1941, and the film captured audiences with its stunning visuals and captivating story.
