Detroit Woman Faces Charges After Stabbing Dog and Live-Streaming Attack
A Detroit woman, Jordan Love, is in hot water after being accused of stabbing her dog multiple times and live-streaming the gruesome attack on social media. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Love with second-degree killing/torturing animals and abandoning/cruelty to four to 10 animals.
Officers from Detroit Animal Control sprang into action after receiving a report of a dog stabbing at a home on Manning Street. Upon entering the residence, they discovered a dog in the basement with multiple stab wounds to its torso. Additionally, they rescued three dogs and four cats from the property.
The disturbing incident allegedly occurred in the early hours of Friday, February 7, when Love reportedly stabbed the dog multiple times and broadcasted the assault on Facebook Live. Following the incident, Love fled Michigan and was later found in Greenville, South Carolina, on March 20, before being extradited back to Michigan.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy emphasized the seriousness with which animal abuse is taken, stating, “The WCPO has always taken the abuse of animals very seriously.” Love was arraigned on April 10 and granted a $50,000 cash/surety bond with the condition of wearing a GPS tether if released. A bond re-determination hearing is scheduled for April 14, followed by a probable cause conference on April 21 and a preliminary examination on April 28.
