Yes Studios has released the powerful and moving documentary #NOVA on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service worldwide. The documentary captures the tragic events of the October 7, 2023, Supernova music festival, also known as Nova Festival, where over 350 partygoers and festival staff were executed by Hamas terrorists, with 44 individuals kidnapped. To this day, 14 survivors have returned, 17 were killed, and the rest remain captive in Gaza.
Directed by Dan Pe’er, #NOVA is a compilation of video and audio clips from the festival taken by victims, survivors, and the terrorists themselves. The documentary was completed shortly after the horrific event, offering a real-time and nerve-wracking account of the tragic day. Produced by Kastina Communications for Yes Docu, yes Studios is the international distributor of the documentary.
One of the festivalgoers featured in a frantic call to her father in the documentary turns out to be Yuval Raphael, who represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest. She will perform a song that references the massacre during the competition. Sharon Levi, the managing director of yes Studios, describes #NOVA as one of their most talked-about and controversial films, now easily accessible on Prime Video to meet the ongoing global demand.
While the events of the festival took place 18 months ago, with 59 hostages still held, the memory of the attacks and the need for this documentary remain significant. #NOVA offers an authentic account of the festival without filters or biases, showcasing different perspectives and contributing to the collective memory of the tragic day.
Yes Studios, the producer and distributor of acclaimed series like Fauda and The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem, continues to bring compelling stories to viewers worldwide. The documentary #NOVA adds to their diverse portfolio, emphasizing the importance of capturing and sharing impactful narratives.
