Severance Pop-Up at Bell Works: A Surreal Experience
Apple’s Severance fever continues with a fantastical makeover of the Holmdel, New Jersey-based Bell Works campus, which serves as Lumon Industries in the show. This event marks a new chapter in the ongoing hype surrounding the show’s second season. Forget the original Grand Central glass display — Bell Works brought Lumon Industries to life in spectacular fashion. The transformation began even before stepping inside the building. Driving onto the campus, you’re greeted with familiar sights from the show’s world, like the water tower and Lumon HQ signs.
Once inside Bell Works, you’re transported into the retro-futuristic universe of Lumon Industries. The architectural wonders of the building blend seamlessly with Severance-themed decor, including a Lumon front desk, propaganda posters, and even a Lumon vending machine. Actors in character roam around, adding to the immersive experience. The highlight? A giant projection of Kier Eagan overseeing it all.
The event didn’t stop there. The basement level featured eerie displays, echoing the show’s themes. The afterparty allowed attendees to experience office sets from the show, providing a surreal taste of Lumon life. Copies of “The You You Are” book by Ricken Hale were showcased, with refreshments fit for any Lumon gathering.
The cherry on top was a lively Q&A session with the show’s cast and creators, moderated by Stephen Colbert. From behind a setup replicating the Mammalians Nurturable hills, the event unveiled a live performance of the show’s theme song and a surprise appearance by Gwendoline Christie as Lorne, the Goat Queen. The level of detail put into recreating a pivotal set from the show left attendees in awe.
With all these immersive experiences and insider insights, the Severance Bell Works event truly brought the Mammalians Nurturable to life. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or someone new to the show, this event left a lasting impression that transcended the boundaries of ordinary TV engagement.
