Logan Lerman Considers Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Walker Scobell a ‘Friend’, Weighs in on Potential Cameo in Series

Percy Jackson and the Olympians premiered in December 2023 with Walker Scobell as the titular character, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood. The show is co-created by Rick Riordan and based on his fantasy book series.

Duplass appeared in the penultimate episode of the first season in his role as the King of the Underworld.

An instant hit among viewers, the series was renewed for its second season in February 2024, per The Hollywood Reporter. The show was then renewed for a third season in March 2025, ahead of the second season’s December 2025 release date, according to Variety. While the first season was based on Riordan’s first novel, The Lightning Thief, the next season will follow the second book in the series, The Sea of Monsters.

Meanwhile, Duplass has kept busy working on an array of other projects, including the newly released series Dying For Sex, in which he stars alongside Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate.

The show is inspired by the late Molly Kochan’s real-life journey to reclaim her sexuality after being diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. Duplass plays Molly’s husband, opposite Williams’ Molly, whom she leaves at the beginning of the series.

At the premiere event, the actor shares that he joined the starry project for multiple reasons.

“The incredible story, the fact that it was true, the writing, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Rob Delaney, FX. I mean, it’s an incredible project,” Duplass says. “It’s a very rare incredible project that’s really got something to offer the world. It’s an original story and it’s funny as hell.”

Dying For Sex is currently streaming on Hulu.
