Kevin Bacon hunts demons in ‘The Bondsman’ on Prime Video

In Prime Video’s latest show, “The Bondsman,” Kevin Bacon comes back from hell to catch demons, but it’s more than just a demon-hunting gig for Hub Halloran (played by Bacon). Alongside his family, he confronts his past sins while seeking a second chance at life, love, and even country music.

Bacon described “The Bondsman” as a mix of humor, blood, and family drama in a recent interview. The show also features original music, including songs written by Bacon and Grammy Award winner Jennifer Nettles, who plays Halloran’s wife. The two collaborated on writing songs for the show, inspired by the characters and their storylines.

Nettles praised Bacon’s writing skills and storytelling abilities, emphasizing their natural collaboration. While the show delves into themes of death, Bacon shared that it hasn’t altered his outlook on life and mortality. For Nettles, the prospect of demon hunting led to some playful musings on celebrity partners for the task, including Dolly Parton and Lady Gaga.

Erik Oleson, the showrunner, expressed optimism about the show’s future, hinting at the possibility of a second season if viewership numbers are strong. “The Bondsman” is now available for streaming on Prime Video, along with its accompanying music EP featuring original tracks from Bacon and Nettles.
