New Star Wars Villains TV Series Coming to Disney+ Next Month

A brand-new animated Star Wars series is set to premiere on Disney+ in May. This upcoming show, called Tales of the Underworld, will be an anthology series of animated shorts and is scheduled to debut on Sunday, May 4, coinciding with Star Wars Day.

Created by Dave Filoni, Tales of the Underworld follows the success of previous Star Wars animated series like Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire. This time around, the focus will be on the criminal underbelly of the Star Wars galaxy, spotlighting notorious characters like Cad Bane and Asajj Ventress. The series will consist of three shorts for each character.

Fans can expect to see familiar voices returning to the series, with Nika Futterman and Corey Burton reprising their roles as Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane, respectively. The cast also includes Artt Butler, Lane Factor, AJ LoCascio, Clare Grant, Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and Eric Lopez.

The official press release for Tales of the Underworld hints at exciting storylines for both Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. Asajj will find herself on the run with an unexpected new ally, while Cad Bane will come face to face with an old friend who is now on the other side of the law.

The series will debut between the second and third weeks of the Andor Season 2 run, promising to bring fans deeper into the dark and intriguing world of the Star Wars universe. With the legacy of successful Star Wars animated series behind it, Tales of the Underworld looks to be another must-watch addition to the Disney+ streaming lineup.
