Divisive Horror Thriller Leaving Hulu Soon – Don’t Miss It!

For the most part, movie critics and audiences tend to agree on whether a film is good or bad. That being said, there can be exceptions to this rule. Take, for example, Mickey Reece’s horror film “Agnes” from 2021. While it received a decent 68% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and even made it onto a list of the best horror films of 2022, viewers didn’t seem to connect with it as much. The film only has a 25% approval rating from users on Rotten Tomatoes and a low 3.8/10 on IMDb.

The story of “Agnes” follows a nun whose unusual behavior leads to rumors of demonic possession in a remote convent. When a priest-mentee and his disillusioned mentor investigate, things take a dark turn, leaving behind a trail of terror and trauma.

Viewers seem to be divided on the film, especially regarding its tonal shift in the second half. Critics, on the other hand, appreciated this departure from the norm. It just goes to show that not every film will please everyone.

Starring Hayley McFarland as Agnes, the film also features Chris Browning, Molly C. Quinn, Sean Gunn, and Chris Sullivan.

If you’re curious to see where you stand on this polarizing horror film, catch it on Hulu before it leaves on April 6, 2025.
