Chandler Kinney joins Prime Video’s ‘Legally Blonde’ prequel series ‘Elle’
Exciting news for Legally Blonde fans! Chandler Kinney has been announced as part of the upcoming prequel series, Elle, based on the beloved film franchise. Alongside Gabrielle Policano and Jacob Moskovitz, Kinney joins the talented cast of the Prime Video series, which includes Lexi Minetree, June Diane Raphael, and Tom Everett Scott playing Elle’s parents.
In Elle, Kinney will portray Kimberly, a sharp-tongued senior who isn’t exactly fond of Elle. Moskovitz takes on the role of Miles, the star athlete at the school who is captivated by Elle, while Policano’s character Liz is referred to as the anti-Elle Woods.
So, what can we expect from Elle? According to the logline, the series will delve into Elle Woods’ high school days, revealing the experiences that shaped her into the iconic character we know from the Legally Blonde films. The search for the series lead, Minetree, was conducted through a nationwide casting call, highlighting the commitment to finding the perfect fit for the role.
Series creator Laura Kittrell serves as the co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Caroline Dries. The production also boasts the involvement of original star Reese Witherspoon, as well as Lauren Neustadter, Lauren Kisilevsky, and Marc Platt as executive producers.
Fans of Kinney may recognize her from her roles in Max’s Pretty Little Liars series, as well as Fox’s Lethal Weapon and Disney Channel’s Zombies films. Additionally, she made waves with her impressive third-place finish on Dancing with the Stars alongside Brandon Armstrong, marking a historic moment as the first Black couple to reach that far on the show. Exciting times ahead for the Elle series with this talented addition to the cast!
