Nicole Kidman stars in thrilling new Prime Video series: A review
I recently watched the new thriller on Prime Video, “Holland,” starring Nicole Kidman, and I have to say, I was left feeling pretty underwhelmed. Despite high hopes from the trailer, the movie fell flat for me. In fact, it got me thinking about whether I should even keep my Prime Video subscription or not.
I’m usually pretty lenient when it comes to movies, always trying to find the silver lining even in ones labeled as “bad.” But “Holland” just didn’t do it for me. It felt like a tired, cliché mystery thriller that was hard to sit through. And now, seeing it at No. 2 on Prime Video’s rankings has me questioning how it got there in the first place.
This disappointment with “Holland” is part of a larger trend I’ve noticed with Prime Video’s original movies. The quality seems to be lacking compared to their original shows. For me, it’s enough to make me think about canceling my subscription.
Over the years, Prime Video has seen some changes that have left me feeling less satisfied with the service. From price hikes to introducing an ad-supported plan, it just doesn’t feel as worth it as it used to. And with the abundance of streaming services available now, it’s important to evaluate which ones are truly worth keeping.
Despite my disappointment with “Holland,” I can’t deny that Prime Video still has some strong original shows. Series like “Reacher,” “The Boys,” and “Fallout” are keeping me hooked and are the reason I haven’t canceled my subscription yet. They offer high-quality, entertaining content that is worth the investment.
But when it comes to movies, Prime Video just hasn’t been hitting the mark for me. If the quality doesn’t improve soon, I may have to reconsider my subscription. Until then, I’ll be eagerly waiting for the next season of my favorite shows to drop.
