Happy Death Day 3: Will the Movie Ever Happen as a Three-Part Series on Peacock?
For years, fans of the Happy Death Day franchise have been eagerly awaiting news about a potential third installment. But it seems like we’re no closer to getting Happy Death Day 3 than we were six years ago. In a recent interview with SFX Magazine, creator/director Christopher Landon shared some insight into the stalled project.
Landon revealed that Happy Death Day 3 almost took a unique approach to becoming a three-part event series on Peacock. However, the project ultimately fell through, leaving fans disappointed. Despite the financial success of the first two films, it seems that Blumhouse and Universal are not eager to greenlight the third installment.
Back in 2020, Landon had hinted that the working title for the third film was Happy Death Day to Us, promising a different tone than the previous movies. With the sequel earning a solid profit at the box office, it’s puzzling why the production companies are hesitant to move forward with the trilogy.
In the meantime, fans can look forward to Landon’s new thriller, Drop, hitting theaters soon. Hopefully, Happy Death Day 3 will eventually come to fruition, and fans can finally see the conclusion they’ve been waiting for. Until then, the fate of the franchise remains up in the air.
